Leadership and management needs for HR practice are changing rapidly in the 21st Century as a new context emerges from rapid political, technological, market and demographic changes. The challenge for both HR leaders and general managers is to build capabilities that ensure the successful execution of business strategy. The next generation of professionals need to think in new ways, take diverse perspectives and confidently lead their organisations.

Participants develop the ability to generate high impact changes in attitudes, beliefs and behaviours among strategic leaders. Presenters

Dr Polly Parker

Polly Parker is Director of the Master of Business Administration program at UQ Business School and a Senior Lecturer specialising in HRM/Leadership. She has a life-long interest in teaching and learning which she has applied in both academic and corporate settings. She is the originator and co-developer of the Intelligent Career Card Sortâ„¢ which is used world-wide for research and practice in career development.

Professor Marie Wilson

Marie Wilson is Academic Dean at Griffith University Business School. She is the author of over 80 books, articles and reports on HRM issues, as well as an award-winning presenter, coach and commentator. Her career spans 15 years in the IT industry, complemented by 15 years in academia.

Dr Phillip Keslake

Phillip Keslake has been a partner in Raeburn Keslake International since 1983, Phillip's practitioner experience includes 20 years of international consulting, with some of the world's leading companies. He obtained an MSc in Change Agent Skills and was awarded an Honorary Senior Research Fellowship with Guys Medical School specialising in Organisation Psychology and Psychiatry.

Ms Tessa Raeburn

Tessa Raeburn was recently the Director of a blue chip, multinational company with specific responsibility, as HR Director, for setting global HR strategy. She specialises in corporate culture, and the development of the leadership and talent pipelines. A Chartered Psychologist, she spent 16 years as a partner of Raeburn Keslake, consulting in blue chip, global companies on individual, team and organisation development.

Credit towards UQBS postgraduate studies

Students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership may apply to undertake this course for credit towards their postgraduate studies. This course is equivalent to MGTS7706 Valuing Human Capital. Students wishing to gain credit must undertake all items of assessment.

Please contact UQBS Student Administration via email to confirm your eligibility and to seek approval to obtain a credit prior to enrolling in the course. All other UQBS postgraduate students interested in enrolling in this course for credit, should contact UQBS Student Administration.

Assessment

Course assessment is available to student who wish to complete it. Information regarding the assessment will be made available during the course.

Please note all participants are required to complete a number of non-assessable items and are issued with a participation certificate upon completion of all non-assessable items.

Investment

$4,400 * Fee includes tuition, course materials, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day and a formal dinner on Thursday evening.
