ANZAM Award
Dr Neil Paulsen is recipient of the Pearson Management Educator of the Year Award at the annual meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management in Yepoon, Qld. The recipient is invited to present a Management Education Master-class at the 2007 meeting of ANZAM in Sydney. Read news release.
International Awards
Dr Margee Hume, a UQ Business School PhD graduate, is recipient of a 2006 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in international management research. Read news release.
Dr Tracey Dagger is recipient of the first Annual Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in the international service management category.
Publisher of international business and management journals, Emerald Group Publishing Limited, in association with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), launched the awards in 2005 to celebrate excellence in research.
Dr Dagger's PhD examined how perceptions of service quality impact on the satisfaction, intentions, and quality of life of consumers in a high-involvement, on-going service setting.
UQ Research Awards
Dr Maosen Zhong, was recognized in 2004 with a UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award. The awards now in their sixth year, recognise outstanding performance and leadership potential.
Dr Zhong's research aims to develop a better method of evaluating big investment projects and meeting required returns. He hopes to develop a step-by-step formula to predict equity capital - the amount a company's shareholders invest in their company.
The results would help financial managers and treasury staff evaluate investments such as new offices or factories and would help corporate and government investors meet required returns on their investments.
