Corporate and Investment Valuation

Accurate valuation of assets is central to capital allocation and the strategic management of firms and investment funds in modern economies.

An understanding of appropriate valuation techniques is vital. The focus on shareholder value and wealth creation has resulted in managers, auditors, external financial analysts, and financial institutions adopting common models as a starting point for choosing among capital projects, financing capital projects, and reporting firm decisions through financial reports and other media.

The CIV Research Program is at the forefront of applied corporate investment and valuation research.

Researchers in the program are currently involved in a number of projects funded by grants from the Australian Research Council and other funding sources.

The [Centre for Corporate Valuation] is the legacy research centre associated with the research program. The Centre attempted to foster partnerships between industry practitioners and top academics world-wide. Its primary purpose was to improve practice in the areas of corporate valuation and the provision of venture capital via quality research.
