Brief Description |
| Capabilities & Firm Performance |
Lance's research focuses on understanding how organizational capabilities form and function in a way that helps firms maximise their performance potential. The focus includes investigating the anatomy of capabilities, both successful and unsuccessful. Specific issues include the role of integration in capability functioning - how people integrate across levels and functions in the organization as well as the conditions that foster desired levels of integration and motivate people to give their best. Capabilities are also investigated in terms of their role in building a dominant position in a marketspace through ongoing capability leverage across successive product development efforts as well as forecasting and assembling capabilities for the firm's future roadmaps. The aim is for a better understanding of how firms build an adaptive capacity to survive and grow while giving their people a sense of fulfilment at the same time. |
