Title of Research Area	Brief Description
Civil procedure/ Management of the Queensland justice system	In recent years civil procedure has been the subject of reviews and rule /procedural changes aimed at maximising the efficiency of the Queensland justice system . This empirical research is a series of projects on the success or otherwise of efforts to improve the civil litigation/court process. Studies have been done of the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts.
Whale meat distribution in Japan	Dr Williams is a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission. The research projects done in Japan are aimed at determining the distribution of whale meat in Japanese markets in order to establish an appropriate DNA sampling/identification system for illegal ( non - quota) whale meat being sold illegally in japan.
