University of Queensland Business School researchers have been recognised in the Australian Financial Review AI Awards for using artificial intelligence to break down language barriers to make research more accessible.
Award finalists Mr James Boyce, Dr Morteza Namvar and Professor Andrew Burton-Jones are part of the UQ AI Research Network, which focuses on ethical AI innovation to support productivity and economic growth.

Their project, Agentic AI for Multilingual Scholarly Communication, delivered in partnership with the AIS Taskforce for Inclusive, Impactful Science uses responsible AI to translate academic research into multiple languages – expanding access to knowledge for non-English speakers worldwide.
By doing this, the tool connects research to broader audiences who can help to identify solutions to global challenges.
