Designing Strategy for Results

In the complex and rapidly changing world the COVID-19 pandemic has fostered, the ability to practice ‘good’ strategy is more important than ever. Informed by insights into overarching business problems and an organisation’s risk appetite, good strategy creates value for organisations, their customers and key stakeholders. Effective strategy empowers organisations to design appropriate business solutions that drive measurable results.

Designing Strategy for Results is a two-day course that will teach you how to develop and implement effective strategies from the ground up. You’ll apply a toolkit of strategic concepts, techniques and frameworks to live case studies as well as to your own organisation in a dedicated ‘Strategy Lab’ session.

Dr Marc Jones

Marc has a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of California. He has published three books and over fifty articles in the areas of strategic thinking and decision-making, globalisation and international business strategy, business model innovation, and strategic agility. Before embarking on an academic career Marc was a management consultant with KPMG and a financial analyst with EDS. He is currently Director of Acme Strategy Group Pty Ltd.

Marc is in his third decade of strategy work encompassing research, teaching, executive development, facilitating, coaching and consulting activities. He has developed and delivered programs for international clients including Philips, Lafarge, Bristol-Meyers-Squibb, Novartis, Roche, CSL, Volkswagen, GKN, Bosch, Continental, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Sinopec, Sinopost, the government of Abu Dhabi, and the UK Foreign Office. In Australia, Marc has worked with organisations such as AMP, Suncorp, IAG, Perpetual, Westpac, NAB, News Corporation, SBS, Johnson&Johnson, Bunnings, Coles, Leightons Contractors, Bluescope Steel, CSR, Trility Water, KPMG, PWC, Tassal, Baxter Pharmaceuticals, and the CSIRO.
