Paul Bertsch’s extensive experience in soil science, environmental geochemistry and toxicology saw him appointed Queensland Chief Scientist in February 2019. He has notably led a team of CSIRO scientists and specialists working on the stewardship of land and water resources and the built environment, and has advocated for scientific approaches to addressing environmental and sustainability challenges facing Australia and the world.

Cameron will be discussing with Paul examples of amazing science happening in Qld and how research and development can be used to create a truly innovative Qld economy. Cameron will also be discussing with Paul how corporates and existing or potential start-up founders can work with research organisations to improve the rate of innovations in Qld.
