Is becoming a Company Director one of your professional ambitions?

With increasingly complex challenges and demands for greater transparency, it’s important to start preparing for your first board role now. Join our expert panel of UQ alumni to learn how leaders aspiring to board roles can position themselves for success and get board-ready.

Panellists will share how and why they became a board member, how they knew which board was right for them, the challenges they’ve faced and the obligations required.

The interactive session will be facilitated by Associate Professor Sarah Kelly, Director of External Engagement at The University of Queensland (UQ) Business School. Sarah holds several non-executive directorships, including Deputy Chair of the Brisbane Lions AFL Football Club as well as Tourism and Events Queensland, Events Management Queensland, The Gregory Terrace Foundation and Wandering Warriors. Sarah has also worked extensively with UQ Business School partner, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) on their National Education Advisory Board.

We will be joined by:

  • Melanie Wilson, (GAICD), Non-Executive Director on the Board of JB Hifi, PropertyGuru Group, EML Payments Ltd, Baby Bunting and iSelect Ltd & UQ BCom alumna
