Throughout your UQ MBA, you'll learn how to solve real industry problems related to business strategy, international expansion, operations design, marketing, innovation, or business model design.
At the end of your program, you’ll participate in a unique opportunity to tackle such problems head-on for an industry client or as part of your own entrepreneurial venture. More than just an academic exercise, these projects will allow you to apply what you’ve learned and contribute value to industry clients by providing solutions to real challenges.
Choose between:
- Entrepreneurship Capstone: Learn best-practice processes to increase the success, sustainability and scalability of a new venture, startup or your own idea.
- Industry Engagement Capstone: Work in teams to design and execute an evidence-based strategic project for an industry partner focused on sustainable growth and stakeholder impact.
Past students have worked with more than 70 industry partners including large corporations, not-for-profits, and government departments. Previous clients include Suncorp, Avcair, Queensland Police, Viva Energy, Downer Group, Australian Robotics, Ag Force and Children's Health Queensland.

Your capstone project will provide you the opportunity to:
- determine and specify the project scope
- engage with industry experts
- conduct primary research alongside key stakeholders
- explore secondary data sources in-depth
- identify a strategy to address the issue
- gain practical experience making business decisions
- provide tangible outcomes that include strategy, evidence-based recommendations, as well as data and contacts.
