Final year University of Queensland (UQ) Business School students with a commercial property focus are eligible to apply for a new scholarship introduced for the first time this year.

The UQ Business School Sentinel Property Group Scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to one final year business student a year, for the next three years, to assist with their study costs.

Sentinel Property Group Founder and Managing Director Warren Ebert said that as a property industry leader, Sentinel placed a high value on learning and development.

He said the Sentinel Property Group Scholarship aimed to reward excellence and foster the next generation of business leaders in the commercial property sector.

“Sentinel prides itself on always being out ahead of the market in order to consistently deliver industry-leading returns to investors,” he said.

“We have built our success on our people who are the ‘the best of the best’ right across our operations and we are committed to encouraging and attracting the best new talent available.

“As well as the financial support of the scholarship, we are committed to strengthening ties between Sentinel and the scholarship recipient and the commercial property sector.

“The recipient may be offered the opportunity to undertake career development opportunities with Sentinel such as vacation employment, an internship or paid work experience.”

UQ Business School Dean Professor Andrew Griffiths encouraged high-achieving students with a demonstrated commitment to the property sector and leadership qualities to consider applying.

“The Sentinel Property Group Scholarship is a great initiative enabling students to advance their education in property-related studies with added financial support,” he said.

“Property is a dynamic industry that is continually evolving. This scholarship will assist our students on their path to successful careers in property including, project management, valuation, and planning and development.

“UQ Business School values our strong industry ties and I’d like to thank Sentinel Property Group for its recognition and support.”
