Gary P. Campbell has practised law for over 30 years. Gary is the Principal Solicitor of his own law firm. He practices in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has a solid background in energy and resources law, international business law and commercial dispute resolution.

Gary worked for Feez Ruthning (now Allens) in Australia and as a partner/solicitor in the top tier law firms Dentons Wilde Sapte, Vinson & Elkins and Clifford Chance in London. Gary is ranked as a leading practitioner in the Legal 500 (UK).

Gary taught at the University of Melbourne, at the University of Technology Sydney and is also teaching at the UQ School of Law. Gary has a Master of Laws from The University of Sydney.

  • Operational contract experience in the mining, oil and gas industries enabling senior management with strategic commercial law advice to implement cost reductions and manage business interruption events affecting E&P, operating assets in the carbon capture and storage, mining, oil & gas industries. This has enabled listed clients to report issues to shareholders, capital markets and meet continuous disclosure obligations and manage events posing risks to production, safety, and revenue.

Industry training, legal business knowledge and lawyer capacity building

  • Training and developing new private practice areas in start-up Energy, Oil & Gas, LNG and Natural Resources legal services work. This has resulted in the development of new skills for lawyers across practice areas; developing industry and transaction relevant legal skills of junior lawyers in oil & gas law and practices, government concession agreements and project development agreements focused on achieving bankability for project finance or capital market raisings.

  • Strategic business development and practice skills as Co Convenor Global Oil & Gas Industry Group across 9 international offices at Denton Wilde Sapte (Now Dentons) London.
  • Financial management of global budget at Dentons London for marketing and training worldwide for Oil & Gas Industry Group. This successfully led to delivering targeted client training programs to key client’s in-house lawyers and business development executives that built closer ‘go to for advice’ relationships with panel clients.
  • Financial management and reporting to non-operators of legal budgets for offshore direct private investments.
