Researcher biography

Alison Joubert is a lecturer in marketing, graduating from The University of Queensland with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and a Bachelor of Business Management in Marketing with Honours Class I. She is an active scholar within the Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) Community - having attended seminars on Consumption, Markets and Culture Theorization at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2015; Qualitative Research Methods at Skema Business School in Lille, France in 2015; Cannon of the Classics at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Denmark in 2016, and Qualitative Data Analysis in Long Beach, California in July 2017 during her PhD program. Key achievements in Alison's research career include winning Highly Commended Paper in the 2019 Emerald Literati - JOSM Robert Johnston Awards and Best Poster Award at the 2016 Consumer Culture Theory Conference (CCTC). Alison has also published in journals such as Journal of Marketing, Marketing Theory and Journal of Service Management, and authored a number of manuscripts accepted in the annual Australia and New Zealand Marketing Association Conferences (ANZMAC), and Consumer Culture Theory Conferences (CCTC). Her research interests are in the areas of process research, contestation and marketplace battles, and qualitative methods.
