Buddhika's research interest centres on the role of not-for-profit organisation in Australia. With increasing significance of not-for-profit organisations in recent times, Buddhika's PhD research entails evaluating potentials of not-for-profit sector in achieving social outcomes while being financially sustainable. Buddhika is interested in what makes these organisations change their business models, and how they create both social value and economic value. Buddhika completed his Master of Philosophy degree in Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Sri Lanka at University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka in 2013.
