Researcher biography

Dr Raymond Rastegar has a Master of Environmental Sciences and holds a PhD in Tourism Management. Dr Rastegar's scholarly interest and expertise lie in the fields of justice, sustainability transitions and environmental conservation. His recent research has focused on promoting sustainable management practices and building inclusive futures through sustainability transitions at local, national, and global levels. His research delivered new insights into the tourism phenomenon to advocate a more just and sustainable tourism future for humans and nonhumans.

He has been invited to deliver talks by different universities and organisations such as UNWTO. He has received several prestige awards for his teaching and research, and has been invited as a visiting scholar to universities in Finland and Malaysia. His research appears in high-quality journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
