Following a comprehensive review of the program and to ensure a continuously sustainable approach to delivery and student experience, the Master of Business Analytics (Program Code: 5188) and Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics (Program Code: 5726) will be delivered in a two-semester academic year from Semester 1, 2023 (February).

Delivery will fully align with the two-semester academic year at UQ. This means that coursework is taught in 13-week teaching blocks, with a mid-semester break, commencing in February and July each year. The programs will continue to be delivered fully-online, providing a flexible approach to study alongside your other commitments.

What does this mean for you?

We’ve listened to your feedback about the challenging and ‘dense’ nature of the courses over the past year. Please be assured that no additional assessment or content will be added to courses. Instead, this approach will allow you more time to digest and engage with the content through additional reflection, review and consultation opportunities. The new academic year aims to synergise course offerings for greater peer-to-peer networking for students and provides a more sustainable approach for students to successfully progress through their studies.

The change to the standard academic calendar will further enhance the user experience to ensure the information reflected on UQ student systems is relevant to you. We note there has been frustration surrounding incorrect academic calendar dates reflected in UQ students systems i.e.SI-net, Learn.UQ etc. These changes will ensure the information you are receiving is accurate and offers greater planning capability for your program.
