The Colloquium showcases the research ideas and plans of many of our Honours and PhD students. One of the main purposes of the Colloquium is to provide support and constructive feedback for all these early career researchers.

The event is a high point of the School’s calendar with opening and closing presentations by graduates or senior academics. The 2019 Research Students' Colloquium will be held on Friday 26 July at UQ Brisbane City.

The Colloquium accomplishes several important aims including:

  • Preparing students for the experience of presenting papers at conferences
  • Giving students the benefit of broad comment and critique by staff and fellow students
  • Showcasing student research so that it can be more effectively communicated to the media
  • Highlighting the importance of impact measures in assessing research
