The Student Managed Investment Fund is a Business School initiative designed to promote the development of asset management skills by allowing students to manage a live equity portfolio.
The UQ Business School Student Managed Investment Fund was endowed with $200,000 of real money in 2018 and has since grown to more than $550,000 as of August 2026. Building on the Fund’s strong performance and commitment to creating a positive impact beyond the investment portfolio, UQ SMIF has also established a student scholarship funded directly from the Fund. The scholarship supports UQ Business School students experiencing financial hardship, allowing the Fund’s investment success to contribute directly to supporting students and enhancing access to educational opportunities.
