Researcher biography

Victor is Professor of Management and Leadership at the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Queensland. He has an international research reputation in the fields of organisational change, work stress, and leadership. Victor is one of the most cited management Professors in Australia (H index = 63) and is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, and a Fellow of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Victor has won the University's Award for Excellence in Higher Degree Research Supervision for the quality of outcomes associated with PhD supervision. In addition, he is a recipient of two UQ Excellence in Leadership Awards for his roles in developing research and industry partnerships. As a reseracher he is the recipient of 15 Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery and Linkage grants, and also for the ARC served as member and Deputy Chair on the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA 2010, 2012) Research and Evaluation Committees.

Victor is a regular contributor to executive education and workshops for senior executives and managers in the public and private sectors. He has completed over 100 projects as an advisor for Federal, State and local government departments including major reviews on skills, vocational education and training, industry closures and workforce development. He has also completed organisational and workforce development projects internationally, including for governments in New Zealand, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Indonesia, Bhutan, Brunei, India, Malaysia and for South Pacific countries. Currently, he serves as the Academic Advisor to Australia Awards Indonesia.
