How a woman's 'glam' appearance affects her career

Experts are suggesting there is more pressure on women than men to look a certain way in many workplaces. However, can women that are deemed 'too glam' be potentially hurting their career? 

It's the less talked about gender bias women face. Look too good, and you risk being seen as incapable or unqualified.

Professor Charmine Härtel from UQ Business School, says "it's sad but not surprising" that women's appearance is commented on in the workplace."

"Whether intended or not, this type of commentary falls in the territory of gender bias, sexism, sexual harassment and workplace incivility," she says.
