Celebrating 50 years of the UQ MBA
50 years of fostering future leaders. 50 years of brilliance in business leadership.
2024 marks the 50-year anniversary of our prestigious Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. Achieving this incredible milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of our current and former students, staff, alumni and industry partners.
In celebrating the significant role the MBA has played in transforming the lives and careers of our alumni, we also look to the future in anticipation of the program’s lasting, positive impact on the community.

“Our MBA program is transformational on all levels and has had a profound effect on students professionally and personally over the past 50 years. I’m excited to see what the next 50 years has in stall for our program, our students and alumni, and the rest of our MBA community.”

UQ MBA Golden Gala
The UQ MBA community celebrated the program's 50-year anniversary at a UQ MBA Golden Gala on Thursday 17 October 2024. Under the bright lights of the iconic Story Bridge, alumni were able to reconnect with their cohort over canapes and network.
Notable alumni guest speakers Raynuha Sinnathamby (CEO, Springfield City Group) and Scott Hutchinson (Chairman, Hutchinson Builders) shared their perspectives on fostering future leaders and the UQ MBA's influence in developing their leadership approach.
UQ MBA Diversity Scholarship
We invite the MBA community to come together and support the establishment of the UQ MBA Diversity Scholarship.
The Scholarship will assist us in diversifying the MBA cohort to further enrich the MBA experience for all. This will include people from diverse groups such as Indigenous Australians, women and gender diverse individuals, people with disabilities, people from rural or remote locations and people facing cultural and linguistic diversity.
With a goal to raise $50,000 to commemorate 50 years of the program, any gift, large or small, can make a difference. This ongoing fund will help many achieve their MBA dream.
MBA community insights
We asked MBA students, alumni and teachers to share the business or career advice that had most influenced their success, gained through the rich cumulation of their work, career and life.
We’ve collated some of the most powerful insights to help motivate and inspire the next generation of future leaders.
