Financial Management of Australia Association (QLD) High Achievers in Commerce Prize

The Financial Management of Australia Association (FMAA) (QLD) High Achievers Prize in Commerce was established in 2014 from gifts donated by the FMAA to encourage and support students studying Commerce at the UQ Business School.

The prize is valued at $1,000 for one year and will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and an interview process. Applicants must be aware that a tentative interview is scheduled for early October and short-listed applicants must be available to attend.

The recipient will have the ability to partake in a 12 month mentor program offered by the Macquarie Group.

Eligibility criteria

Consideration for this award shall be given to students who meet the following criteria:

  1. a domestic student in accordance with the Fee Rules (Australian Citizen or holder of a permanent
  2. visa);
  3. enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Commerce or dual degree with a Bachelor of Commerce at the UQ Business School;
  4. completed a minimum of 16 units to a maximum of 24 units in the single Bachelor of Commerce program, OR;
  5. completed a minimum of 16 units towards the Bachelor of Commerce component in a BCom dual program and are not graduating in the year following the award;
  6. achieved a minimum GPA of 6 on a 7 point scale applicable to the courses of the Commerce program only;
  7. has submitted an application form by the due date.

Additional preferences are:

  1. has a genuine desire to pursue a career in Finance;
  2. engages in leadership, teamwork and co-curricular activities.

Applications close on 2 October 2020, and late applications will not be considered.
