Dr Antje Martins
Antje is PhD candidate in the tourism discipline at UQ Business School. Her PhD research focuses on understanding employee non-engagement in sustainability initiatives. As an industry professional turned academic Antje is able to draw upon more than 15 years of international experience in sustainable tourism and hospitality management. Her previous industry roles helped her to identify the challenges of sustainable management within the tourism and hospitality industry, which she is now dedicated to address in her academic work. Her main research interests lie in addressing tourism and hospitality workforces challenges sustainably and the ethical and social sustainability implications of technological advancements such as AI and robots. She keeps in touch with industry developments as a trainer for the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and as part of the Education and Training Working Group (ETWG) at the GSTC.
