What’s the difference between the Master of Business Analytics and the Master of Data Science?

If you have a technical background in computing, IT or statistics, our Master of Data Science may be the program for you. While both programs address the function of data analytics, the Master of Data Science provides technical expertise, while the Master of Business Analytics will teach you how and why to make business decisions using data. Another key difference is the Master of Business Analytics is taught 100% online, allowing you the flexibility to study from the comfort of home.

Is this online degree the same as an on-campus degree?

The online Master’s degree is considered a Master’s degree on Australian Qualification Framework, and is equivalent to students completing an on-campus degree. There will be no mention of ‘online’ on your graduation documentation. This qualification is recognised as a master's degree on the Australian Qualifications Framework and worldwide.

What are the teaching dates of the courses in the program?

Teaching Dates for the Graduate Certificate and Master of Business Analytics differ from our standard UQ academic calendar. For more information on specific teaching dates for these programs, please see my.UQ Course date variations

The Master of Business Analytics program is designed to be studied part-time and fully online, with three starting points throughout the year. This gives you the flexibility to complete the degree around other commitments, regardless of where you live.

How long will it take to complete the Master of Business Analytics?
