UQ Business School innovation delivers life-long value for MBAs

7 Jul 2010
UQ Business School will next month launch the Career Companion, a web portal which streamlines connection between employers and MBA talent. Leveraging Lode's technology, the Career Companion has been designed as a service to MBAs and employers. . Employment Services Officer Tim Burton said the Career Companion would give employers access to a high quality talent pool. He said, "The talent pool will grow with every new student entering the UQ Business School MBA program." "Even if students or graduates are not actively job hunting, having an up-to-date profile on the Career Companion database ensures they will hear about new opportunities that might be of interest." Mr Burton said selected employers would have free access to the service so they could search at any time to identify talent or recruit for a specific role. He said, "We will allocate 12-month licenses to our valued corporate clients so they can use the service for free." "We will also be utilising Lode's cutting edge push marketing tool to proactively market the profiles of our MBAs to corporate partners. "Lode's technology allows us to send links to the most up-to-date profiles of our MBA students and alumni whether in response to a request from that employer or to highlight our talent - no more attachments to emails, just real live weblinks to those profiles." "Employers will be able to access the system from 1 August 2010." Lode founder Justin Robinson said the Career Companion was another example of UQ Business School's commitment to delivering outstanding employment outcomes for its graduates. He said, "The service is a streamlined way to help UQ Business School's corporate clients find the talented individuals they need to add value to their businesses." "We have been working with UQ Business School since we launched our first product, iexchange, in 2006. "The Career Companion mobilises sophisticated proprietary software to create an extremely simple, intuitive user interface." "UQ Business School is the first to commission a tool like the Career Companion for the benefit of its students, graduates, and corporate clients."
