UQ Business School PhD student Claudia Gonzalez has received a visiting doctoral fellowship for The Media Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC) at Jönköping University’s International Business School in Sweden.
MMTC is recognised as an important academic institution in the fields of Media Management and Media Economics both nationally, and internationally. The centre also founded the Journal of Media Business Studies and has previously welcomed leading academics in Ms Gonzalez’ area of study.
After completed her Master of Business (Advanced) at UQ Business School, Ms Gonzalez was awarded a Chilean Government Scholarship to undertake her PhD at UQ with a focus on branding and brand management.
She is also a casual marketing lecturer teaching brand management and strategy course at the Business School.
Ms Gonzalez will spend a month at Jönköping University where she will present and develop her research into Australian broadcasting television brands, participate in seminars and doctoral courses, and interact with other staff and students to discuss their work.
“Visiting the centre will greatly assist me in networking and building future collaborations with media branding and management scholars, as well as PhD students. The visit offers an important opportunity to present and discuss my work with expert scholars in my field of study.
“I would value presenting my work about the transformation of broadcasting television brands in Australia. I am especially interested in how the transformation of media brands due to digitalization has created even more complex brands and so I would like to discover more about the projects the centre is working on,” she said.
