AMI Marketing and Advertising Accreditation

UQ Business School has achieved Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) Accreditation for its courses in marketing and advertising, as part of the Master of Business program. With this, both the Bachelor and Master level programs in marketing and advertising have been accredited by the AMI.

AMI recognition provides an independent verification of status and quality, enhances the credibility and employability of graduates from accredited courses, and contributes to the wider aim of bringing academia and practice closer together.

Marketing Discipline Leader, Associate Professor Jay Weerawardena, says this hard-earned endorsement will increase awareness and visibility of UQ Business School’s marketing courses and will serve as a quality assurance process for our programs which ensure that marketing graduates are job ready.

“The accreditation of our marketing majors both at the bachelor and master level provide a ‘seal of approval’ for many innovative, industry relevant new courses and assessment schemes that we have introduced over the recent years with strong practitioner input,” he said.

The AMI accreditation recognises the opportunity the courses provide for students to undertake real industry projects, and their comprehensive focus on marketing concepts and related theories, principles and processes that are explored from a strategic and applied prospective.

“The accreditation process was also an opportunity to reflect on our courses in terms of their industry relevance, conformity to academic standards specified by AQF, AASB and ABDC and their capacity to develop transferable skills and knowledge of students. We are pleased that our courses rank highly in all these attributes. Specifically, all our courses met all Level 7 Australian Qualifications Framework standards across Social Responsibility, Analysis, Knowledge, Judgement and Communications,” he added.

The marketing and advertising courses are offered under both the master and bachelor level programs at the UQ Business School.
