UQ Business School has recently appointed Liam Stitt; a supply chain, logistics and process improvement expert, as an Industry Fellow.

Liam has a career spanning all segments in the supply chain, and is Managing Director of supply chain optimisation company, EsSCO Pty Ltd. He is also the former President and Director of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association, during which time he guest lectured at UQ Business School on the MBA program. With his principal strengths lying in the development, translation and implementation of strategic concepts, Liam’s invaluable firsthand understanding of the issues and opportunities associated with the supply chain will be echoed throughout his future lectures.

Liam has developed a solid relationship with UQ Business School over the years, regularly lecturing postgraduate students and providing support to Dr David Parker as a co-lecturer and coordinator of courses with UQ Business School Executive Education. He lectures to the School’s corporate clients (e.g. Laing O’Rourke, Vale and Thiess Ltd); and recently facilitated a nine week project management course for AusAid/UniQuest in conjunction with Dr David Parker, Senior Lecturer in Business Operations Management at UQ Business School.

Andrew Griffiths, Dean of UQ Business School, said: “We are delighted to appoint Liam Stitt as an Industry Fellow at UQ Business School. His abilities and knowledge will benefit the School immensely from both a professional and research perspective. He has been working closely with UQ Business School for over ten years.”

UQ Business School established the Industry Fellows initiative as a way to acknowledge the contribution of members of Brisbane’s business community and recognise the value these individuals bring to the School. Industry Fellows are often involved in applied research and consulting projects with the School – giving clients the best of academia plus the best of professional practice.
