UQ Business School is pleased to announce that our MBA students have recently completed another round of projects as part of the Wharton Global Consulting Practicum. The two teams worked alongside MBA students from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania to successfully develop expansion and implementation plans for an Australian manufacturer looking to enter the US market, and an Australian sporting code looking to leverage US market knowledge to grow their local operations.
The Wharton Global Consulting Practicum is the premier strategic opportunity of the UQ Business School MBA program. It brings together selected UQ Business School and Wharton MBA students in international consulting teams to complete a “real life” US market entry or expansion project for a paying Australasian company. We are now seeking nominations for the 2014-2015 Global Consulting Practicum from businesses that may be interested in expanding into the US, or US-based companies looking to understand growth opportunities in Australia.
For more information, or to discuss this opportunity further please contact Dr Sarah Kelly, MBA Director on 0408 710 088 or via email at s.kelly@business.uq.edu.au
Read what some past participants have had to say about the experience:
- “The Wharton Project on Lorna Jane has given me a very clear view of our strategy for entry into the Californian market. The teams worked well together and the ‘bring alive activities’ were excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending this project to anyone considering entry into the United States market.” Bill Clarkson, CEO Lorna Jane
- “The project was excellent in bringing the whole executive team along. Because it was someone external that was looking at the whole picture and leaving no stone unturned, it makes it much more compelling than if any one of us had just said that I think we should do this.” Tony Schreiber, CEO Australian Tube Mills
