Associate Professor Nicole Hartley

Nicole Hartley

Associate Professor Nicole Hartley is an academic and the MBA Director at UQ. Her teaching expertise is in advertising, marketing strategy, digital media and consumer behaviour. In her role, Nicole also works closely with companies within the Brisbane technology start-up and social enterprise scene to advise on marketing advertising strategies to launch new-to-market technology-based products and services both nationally and globally.

Professor Victor Callan

Professor Victor Callan

Victor Callan AM is Professor of Management and Leadership at the Business School. As one of Australia's most recognised researchers in the field, Victor investigates organisational change, leadership and employee training. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was appointed as a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia (General Division) for his service to higher education as a researcher and adviser to Government and industry.

Dr Micheal Axelsen

Michael Azelson

Dr Micheal Axelsen is a Senior Lecturer (Business Information Systems) in the Business School and is Program Leader for the Master of Commerce Program. He is an experienced IS professional and accountant (FCPA of CPA Australia) with fifteen years' experience in information systems consulting. Micheal is also a Fellow of CPA Australia, and was awarded the President's Award for contributions to the management of information systems in 2004.

Dr Michael Collins

Prior to joining the Business School, Dr Michael Collins served as a commissioned officer in the Australian Defence Force for 15 years and as a director of a management consultancy until 2018. He has extensive front-line to executive leadership experience across a diverse range of organisations, cultures and industries, including finance, mining, rail and government. Michael’s research interests include leadership and safety performance, with a focus on how personality and attention influence both areas in complex situations and high-risk environments.

Dr Terrance Fitzimmons

Terrance Fitzsimmons

Dr Terrance Fitzsimmons is a Senior Lecturer in Leadership and has over 30 years of practicing as a Chartered Accountant. He is also the director of the AIBE Centre for Gender Equality in the Workplace and Managing Director of the Australian Gender Equality Council (AGEC). Dr Fitzsimmons has worked with many of Australia's largest firms on their diversity programs and speaks regularly in Australia and overseas in the area of gender equality and inclusion.

Dr Sarel Gronum

Sarel Gronum

Dr Sarel Gronum has more than 20 years international lecturing experience. His research has been published in top-tier journals and presented at several conferences. Sarel has worked on several industry-sponsored large-scale research projects for government and industry bodies. He consults extensively by empowering entrepreneurs, corporate and public sector client organisations to develop and implement innovative commercialisation and growth strategies.

Dr Sam MacAulay

Dr Sam MacAulay

Innovation expert Dr Sam MacAulay is a Senior Lecturer at UQ Business School. His research involves the strategic organisation of innovation, with a focus on project-based forms of organising commonly found in infrastructure, engineering and resources. Sam is passionate about creating a positive impact on the economy and society through his research, seeking to improve understandings of how organisations function and ways they can make better decisions.

Lisa Barham

Lisa Barham

Lisa Barham started her career as a public accountant, before broadening her expertise as a financial professional in listed, private and not-for-profit firms.

Specialising in financial modelling, budget and forecasting, Lisa has extensive experience as a consultant and business analyst and helps organisations make clear decisions backed by data.

A UQ MBA alum herself, Lisa is an Associate Lecturer at the Business School and also teaches into the Executive Education suite of short courses.

Cameron Turner

Cameron Turner is a lecturer and Entrepreneur in Residence at the Business School. He has over 30 years’ experience researching problems, developing solutions and executing innovation and commercialisation strategies to transform ideas into sustainable competitive advantage. He has founded four startups commercialising world first innovations and is shortlisted for MBA Australasia's Graduate Management Award 2022 finalist.
